Bhimthadi Jatra – A Depiction of Rural Life

Bhimthadi Jatra, a rural carnival makes you nostalgic and pushes you to go back to the roots. Since last 4 years, I have been regularly attending the Bhimthadi Jatra, enjoyed delicious rural food & enriched rural culture. Bhimthadi Jatra is organized by Agricultural development trust, Baramati, with the sole motto to provide a business platform for rural women and educate them on various skills to make them socio-economically empowered.

Being an urban citizen most of the time we eat stale & tasteless food. Somewhere in our heart, we miss the charm, freshness, liberty, spiciness of rural life. Bhimthadi Jatra in Pune (2017) is an ideal place to get back to our roots and enjoy our missing culture which is nothing but “Agriculture” life. This year’s Bhimthadi Jatra 2017 was organized on 2 March 2017 to 5 March 2017. Don’t feel sad if you have missed the Bhimthadi Jatra 2017 because ‘Bhimthadi Jatra Christmas Edition’ provides an opportunity to experience the same marvelous event again this year.

One can find authentic spices, delicious dry fruits, organic grains, a variety of rice like Ambemohar, Indrayani etc. Bhimthadi Jatra is ideal for food lovers, one can find Konkani dishes like Kombadi vade, Ukadiche Modak, Kolhapuri Mataka Mutton, Chicken with lal pandra rassa, Puneri Masswadi, Khandeshi Mande, Baingan Bharta and lots more …

Here are some of the glimpses of this year’s Bhimthadi Jatra 2017
